Culture Days: UCR Dances

A three-day festival usually held in March, Culture Days: UCR Dances showcases the works-in-progress of the many student organizations at UC Riverside, as they prepare for their annual cultural shows. Participants include cultural organizations such as Katipunan, the Vietnamese Student Association, Asian Indian Student Association, Chinese Student Association, and other student dance organizations.

This festival provides the UCR community a rare opportunity to witness the creative, artistic, and political endeavors of students involved in the production of their own cultural shows. The results are as varied as the artists. Some artists address identity, issues of globalization through dance and drama, or explore movement and text investigating the politics of dislocation through war and immigration. Others investigate love, romance, and the fusion of classical ethnic dances with contemporary movement.

Culture Days: UCR Dances takes place at the ARTS Open Air Theatre.
